With over 25 years in this industry under my belt, I pride myself in being adept in everything from basic to advanced coloring techniques and the most intricate principles behind hair design. I nurture my abilities through various avenues such as seminars, classes, virtual training, and textbooks--anything I can wrap my brain around to bring my clients what they demand. I have always loved to learn, and I am fueled by a passion to create and succeed. Opening GLAM in Vestavia 11 years ago was the latest adventure in my professional journey, and it has definitely been the best thing I've done so far.
My areas of expertise are concentrated in specialty blonding & hair painting techniques (balayage), classic cutting and coloring techniques , and texture services. I have a strong focus on hair extensions , changing the lives of my clients in a way that can only be described as astonishing and so very rewarding for me knowing I have helped someone gain a boost of confidence.
Over the years, my career has taken me across the country and afforded me the chance to receive training from renowned stylists such as "What Not to Wear" stylist Nick Arrojo, Candy Shaw, Beth Minardi, Guy Tang, Tabatha Coffee, and Schwarzkopf Blonde Ambassador Kim Vo. I have trained with The Masters of Balayage and Schwarzkopf and love to share my knowledge with my amazing staff. I've also worked with many local publications such as Portico, Birmingham magazine, B-Metro, and Southern Beauty Magazine (as a contributing editor and editorial stylist), and was selected by the Perfect Wedding Guide to style Melissa Rycroft for one of their editions.
Since the creation of GLAM, the entire team has been consistently named one of the top salons in the Birmingham area. I'd have to say the biggest motivation for choosing this profession is instilling confidence in and inspiring people. I not only treasure the relationships I form with my clients, but also the relationships I cultivate and nurture with their hair. Each one is special, and must be nurtured and cultivated just like any other relationship. I have always had a very strong conviction when it comes to taking care of my clients. Without the client, the hairdresser would have no reason to be behind the chair.
