SHAUN THOMAS
Owner, Master Executive Stylist
With almost 20 years in this industry under my belt, I pride myself in being adept in everything from basic to advanced coloring techniques and the most intricate principles behind hair design. I nurture my abilities through various avenues such as seminars, classes, webinars, and textbooks--anything I can wrap my brain around to bring my clients what they demand. I have always loved to learn, find I am fueled by a passion to create and succeed. Opening GLAM 5 years ago was the latest adventure in my professional journey, and it has definitely been the best thing I've done so far.
My areas of expertise are concentrated in specialty hair painting techniques (balayage), applying and maintaining hair extensions seamlessly and naturally, classic cutting and coloring techniques, and texture services. The stunning transformations I can create in just a couple of hours have often been life-changing for many of my clients, and so very rewarding for me knowing I have helped someone gain a boost of confidence.
Over the years, my career has taken me across the country and afforded me the chance to receive training from renowned stylists such as "What Not to Wear" stylist Nick Arrojo, Candy Shaw, Beth Minardi, Guy Tang, Tabatha Coffee, and Schwarzkopf Blonde Ambassador Kim Vo. I've also worked with many local publications such as Portico, Birmingham Magazine, B-Metro, Southern Beauty magazine (contributing editor and editorial stylist), and was selected by the Perfect Wedding Guide to style Melissa Rycroft for one of their editions.
I'd have to say the biggest motivation for choosing this profession is instilling confidence in and inspiring people. I not only treasure the relationships I form with my clients, but also the relationships I cultivate and nurture with their hair. Each one is special, and must be nurtured and cultivated just like any other relationship. I have always had a very strong conviction when it comes to taking care of my clients. Without the client, the hairdresser would have no reason to be behind the chair.
THOMAS BROWN
Executive Stylist

To say that I love what I do would be an understatement. I love the art and beauty that comes with being a hairstylist. I believe that a person’s image is most influential in how one is perceived by the world, and hair is one of the most important facets of that image. I take pride and joy in making sure my clients always look their best.
Since I began my career in 1995, I have been granted amazing opportunities and experiences traveling the world as an artistic educator and platform artist for companies such as Pureology, Paul Brown, Thermafuse, and Schwarzkopf Professional. This allowed me a truly creative perspective and access to priceless knowledge I continue to draw from behind my chair on a daily basis.
Since 2012, I have been most fortunate to work as team lead stylist for two motion pictures, “October Baby (2012),” and “Grace Unplugged (2013),” both of which were filmed locally in Alabama, further affording me experience and knowledge behind the scenes and helping to mold me into the consummate professional I am now.
Someone once said to me “If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.” That statement has held true over my years in this industry. I truly love what I do, and the bonds I form with my clients when they visit me. I look forward to making your time at GLAM memorable and your hair unforgettable.
